Description
The automatically operating process refractometers IPR EX measure the refractive index continuously and thus, the concentration of a binary or quasi-binary liquid mixture. The measurement is independent of light intensity from the light emitting diode (LED) and is free of signal drift, granting high precision and better process control. Colour, turbidity, undissolved particles or gas bubbles do not affect the measurement.
The process refractometer IPR EX is a modular system. The basic configuration consists of a measuring head and a controller. You can choice from 4 measuring ranges for highest precision. The controller has a free configurable LCD display, a keypad for data input, menu selection and programming and a serial interface RS232. Up to 3 sensor heads per controller are possible.
The stainless steel measuring head is resistant against chemicals, suiting foodstuff regulations and CIP and pipe pig use possible. The IPR measuring head can be installed in pipes, reactor vessels, mixing tanks, kettles, boiling pans and evaporators, using different weld-in flanges.
The ex-proof version of the process refractometer consists of an intrinsically safe sensor installed in the hazardous area and a barrier unit and an electronic unit installed in the safe area, European classification ATEX ib II A T4.
